The Playtex wearable pumps are more basic than the pumps I usually use, but that is not necessarily a bad thing depending on what you are looking for. They have 3 modes and 12 suction levels, so there is still enough control to adjust things to what feels manageable. The heart mode is for letdown, the second mode is a stronger pull, and the third combines both. The suction is definitely noticeable, and I had to turn it down a couple of times because these felt stronger on me than I expected.One thing to note is that these shut off at 20 minutes instead of running a more typical 30 minute session. That may not be a big deal for everyone, but if you usually pump longer, you will have to restart them. I also ended up sore after using them. I used the 18 mm flange, which is one size bigger than what I normally need, so I cannot say for sure if the soreness is from the flange fit or the suction strength, but it is something I noticed enough to mention.The flange sizing is a little different compared to most other pumps. The main flange is 27 mm, while a lot of other brands use 25 mm as a standard starting point. The included inserts are what bring the size down, and they have very thick inner tunnels. They feel more structured than typical inserts, but they are also specific to this pump, so only the included ones fit. You cannot swap in standard inserts from other brands, which is something to be aware of if you already have sizing pieces from other pumps.Cleaning these is one of the easiest parts of using them. There is nothing complicated about it and no special brushes needed to get into tight areas. Everything comes apart easily, and I had no trouble figuring it out even before looking at the manual. I tend to mess with things and figure them out on my own first, then go back and read the instructions later, and that was exactly the case here. By the time I read it, I already had a good handle on how everything worked, but still picked up a couple small things I did not catch at first.There is one small piece you need to pay attention to when washing because it can slip away quickly. I almost lost it down the drain, so that is something to be mindful of when you are rinsing parts. When I removed the motors, which was actually easier than with my other pumps, I did notice a small amount of milk had somehow made its way out of the tanks onto the pump. I was not bending forward or doing anything that would normally cause that, so I am not exactly sure how it happened. It was not a lot, but enough that it is worth pointing out.The flanges are a thicker silicone, and I personally prefer that over thinner ones. They have some structure to them while still being flexible, and they do not dig in or irritate the way thinner ones can. Even though the size I used was slightly off from what I normally wear, my output was still pretty much in the same range as my usual pumps, which surprised me.When it comes time to pour out the milk, you may need to lightly press on the silicone to release the pressure that holds the milk inside. It is not difficult, just something to be aware of the first time you do it.The size of these is another thing I really like. They are smaller than several of my other wearable pumps and sit more naturally in the bra without that overly round, obvious look. They feel less bulky and easier to wear without drawing attention.The charging process was simple and did not take long to reach full charge, though I still left them plugged in a bit longer since they were brand new. The storage case is honestly one of my favorite parts. It is a hard shell case that actually feels protective, not just for looks. There are indentions inside that hold the pumps in place, along with three separate mesh pockets for parts and charging cables. The handles are sturdy, and it keeps everything organized instead of having pieces floating around loose.Overall, I have mixed feelings about these. I really appreciate how quick and easy they are to clean, and the slimmer design makes them more comfortable to wear in everyday situations. The case is well thought out and actually useful, and the thicker flange inserts are a big plus for me. At the same time, for the price, I expected a bit more in terms of features. These motors are very straightforward. You get the suction levels and the three modes, and that is about it.They do work effectively, and if the soreness I experienced ends up being related to using the wrong flange size, that may change my opinion a bit once I test that further. Would I use them again, yes. Will they replace my other pumps, probably not. I will keep them in rotation though because they are portable, easy to clean, and well protected in that case. I was honestly surprised to see Playtex baby step into this category, but I am glad they did because there are definitely some things they got right here.

Picked this up for my wife with another baby on the way and it’s made a real difference in how she handles her day. Being hands-free is the biggest win. She can move around, handle the kids, or get stuff done without being stuck in one spot.It’s quieter than expected and easy to figure out without messing with a bunch of settings. Cleaning isn’t a headache either, which matters when you’re already running on low sleep.Overall, 5 stars because it gives back time, keeps things simple, and actually fits into real family life.
