Does not Smell
Odor free! This really keeps the smells down. For us it fills up in about a week without smelling. I like the small footprint. Holds more than expected. Cutter works like a charm. I’m very happy with this purchase.

What a game changer
Truly an amazing solution for adult disposables. No odor whatsoever lingers in our bathroom. Drop door inside works efficiently & this slim unit fits perfectly beside our toilet for easy access. Even the foot pedal for opening the lid is positioned ideally! We love the continuous bag that is thick, hefty & holds all contents & odors so well. Cutter inside door is sharp & so convenient. I use a twist-tie to tie off the top of the bag when changing out the used portion— bcs it uses less “new” bag than tying it by itself, like I do at the bottom. Fail-safe! Terrific value. Highly recommend!

Better than a regular trash can
It is easy to use. It does contain more of the smell than a regular trash can however it does not contain it completely. I purchased a small can. My mother wears small depends. We still bag her soiled underwear in a plastic bag along with any wipes that we use with cleaning her up. It can fit about 10 or so small underwear in there but it’s pretty full when we do. The Inner flap will not close if it gets too full so it becomes an indicator it’s time to change the Bag when that happens. The smell still escapes when you’re throwing away underwear but it’s to be expected. What I don’t like is the flap will catch you hand and cause the whole lid to come up if you do not quickly throw it away. I tend to use two hands. One to hold the flap open while the other one shoves the undies through the opening. On a small size trash can, the opening is small. It works for a small size depends underwear but that’s with me really tying that underwear in a bag to a small size. I don’t know how well a bigger size underwear would do. I would strongly suggest you bag that underwear first before throwing it away for any size underwear. That flap shuts quickly and is small. If that underwear is really soiled, you’ll risk having to clean that opening often. Overall, I’m ok with this trash can. It suits our needs enough. I’m not happy about the fact I have to buy the special bags for it but at the same time, I do like the bagging system. I think it’s worth a try if you are looking for a trash can that will help reduce the smell of soiled underwear or diaper. It will reduce the smell but not completely.

This is an amazing product. I hesitated purchasing because one reviewer said it was cheaply made, and I’m so glad I purchased it anyway. It works! It’s easy! It contains odors! The size is just right! Such a simple thing can make a big difference!

Caregivers, Buy one! Make your life a little bit easier and pleasant!
This is our 2nd Janibell Akord Slim over 3-4 years. Easy to use for caregiver with refills from same manufacturer. Best if changed every other day or morning of 3rd day—no odor. By nightfall on 3rd day, some odor present. Only changes I would suggest for manufacturer is for top flap (underneath lid) to be split in two having a center opening instead of top flap pushing down toward the rear of container. Current design is somewhat difficult for my senior to get soiled diaper into receptacle neatly and cleanly because of close proximity to lid hinge in the rear of container. Also, top flap hinge is somewhat fragile when flap is pushed in on at the center on a repetitive basis. Another suggestion would be to have a hand-operated opener lever or tab for use while sitting on toilet. Currently she uses fingernails to pry open top lid while in sitting position. Foot opener lever is great when used by caregiver. Don’t get me wrong. Fantastic product and wouldn’t give it up! These are points for manufacturer from my wish list!!!

Awkward for those with back issues: liner collar catches. Sharp edges inside.
This system is well thought out and does help manage odors.I would suggest, for those with back issues, to set this up on a box to make it easier to empty. The liner can get hung up on the collar inside the upper chamber. The weight of used diapers pulls it unevenly causing binding. It is imperative to check to make sure, when this happens, that the liner has not torn, otherwise fluids will leak into the lower cavity. There are sharp edges inside as well that can catch and tear or slice the liner.
