Meet Spike, the colorful hedgehog who needs your child’s help to get his quills back! This adorable fine motor skills toy has quickly become a favorite among parents, educators, and children alike for its simple yet effective approach to early childhood development. As little hands grasp the chunky, peg-shaped quills and carefully place them into the holes on Spike’s back, they’re actually building crucial hand muscles and developing the fine motor coordination that will support future writing, buttoning, and other important skills. But Spike offers so much more than just motor skills development. Parents and teachers love using this versatile toy to introduce color recognition by asking children to identify or sort the quills by color. The numbered holes on Spike’s back (1-12) make counting practice fun and concrete, while the different colored quills invite creative pattern-making and sequencing activities. Parents consistently report that Spike engages children for extended periods -Many find it remarkable how this seemingly simple toy holds children’s interest from 18 months through preschool years, adapting to their developing skills and understanding. Whether used for independent play or guided learning activities, Spike the Fine Motor Hedgehog combines playful engagement with developmental benefits

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great toy for developing fine motor skillsI bought this toy for my 2-year-old, and they loved it right away. The pieces are colorful, easy to hold, and safe for little hands. It helps practice hand-eye coordination as they place the “spikes” into the hedgehog’s holes. Plus, all the pieces store neatly inside the toy, which makes cleanup super easy. The material feels sturdy and well-made. It’s a wonderful way to encourage learning through play, especially for toddlers developing fine motor skills. Highly

Easy brain power toy that’s no fuss
Colorful, well-made, and an easy but brain powering activity. This was a Christmas gift for a 16mo old and they LOVE it! It’s easy for them to play by themselves but entertaining/challenging enough that it’s an easy 10+ minute activity every time. The back easily comes off for storage of the pins. The back snaps on fairly good so you could throw this in a toy bag to take in the car without losing any pieces. So far it’s been super easy to clean and wipe down.Doesn’t require any assembly or batteries! It also makes ZERO NOISE! Would absolutely buy / gift to babies or 1 year of age.

My son is loving this toy, he is 21 months currently. It’s the perfect amount of challenge for him but it’s also doable and he has fun doing it. It is a very good quality and durable toy. I like that you can store the spikes inside, making it portable and also easy to store and clean up. The spikes themselves have little grips on the end that make it easy for their little hands to grab. I’m happy I found a toy my son actually likes as they are always a hit or miss!

Engaging and durable
This Hedgehog was a great addition for my 15 month old granddaughter. She plays with this everyday.I questioned its quality at first glance. The spikes look cheap. (4 stars) But it has held up. It’s durable, baby proof and was a great price.Learning Resources is known for reliably delivering great toys that are not only educational and engaging, but also durable, well-made, and affordable.I recommend and will buy again.

Spike the Hedgehog
Such a fun toy for an 18 month old! My daughter loves taking the spikes off of the hedgehog and putting them back on. Putting the spikes on the hedgehog is super easy for littles and the best part is you can store the spikes inside the hedgehog so you don’t loose any of the pieces. Well made and hours of fun!

Great Puzzle for Chewing Toddlers
I got it for my toddler who chews and ruins all his wooden puzzles. Definitely works great for him since the pieces are a soft plastic. It only keeps his attention for a few minutes but I like that he can safely have a puzzle in his play room with me worrying he will eat it.

Great fine motor toy
My child loves this toy! It is great for fine motor skills. You can take the shell off and store the pieces in it so they won’t all get lost. It is the perfect size, not too bulky. My one year-old is able to easily manipulate the pieces.

Lovely bright toy that the kids love to sit and play with. Fabulous for hand eye coordination!Only downside, the spikes are quite soft plastic so easily ruined by toddlers using them whilst teething.

I bought this for baby grandson when he was 10 months old. He could just about place one of the spikes. Four months on he still loves it. He has not got the concentration to fit all of the spikes but it is good for hand eye coordination. We play feeding the hedgehog and the spikes have been used as pretend characters when he is playing with his vehicles. You can store the spikes in the toy so that the spikes don’t get lost. Nice quality plastic.

Surprisingly good value for money. Lots of skills to build and schemas to support in a single toy – fine motor, sorting/colour/pattern recognition, memory, counting, transporting. Makes for a perfect gift!

Mi hijo es difícil de mantenerlo concentrado y con Spike se mantiene entretenido un buen rato, muy buena calidad del juguete y excelente para trabajar motricidad fina, contar, aprender colores, etc.
