Blacks out the Sun
I love this curtain. It blocks the sun out so well. It also helps keep the room a lot cooler. It isn’t too heavy where one person can’t handle it. It is black on one side and silver on the other. I use it for travel. We stay in Air bnb’s and if they don’t have good curtains then this little curtain comes in so handy. We have to be up at 2 AM so we go to bed at 6 PM. Sometimes it needs to be dark in our bedroom. This curtain works like a charm. You can cut it to the desired length and width. It has sticky tabs or Velcro. I would think the Velcro is for more of a permanent thing. I’m probably gonna run our of the stickies before too long but I’ll figure something out.

Worth the price, buy gorilla tape too
I have no issue with the material so far. It was easy to cut with sharp scissors. I love the pattern. With the largest size I was able to cover 3 windows. I highly recommend buying gorilla duct tape. Cut length of the velcro strip. Turn it inside out and stick it together so that you can put it on the velcro piece that will adhere to the wall for extra protection from cold/hot temp. changes. The velcro adhesive that attaches to the material doesn’t seem to come off, so far. The wall/window one eventually will. Be ready with gorilla strong duct tape. I like the idea of being able to take down. I don’t plan too until we move. Easy to set up. Looks good from the outside. Better than tinfoil, garbage bags or even car window shades.

Blocks light but trap all the heat from the sun. Very flimsy material.
As far as blocking out light, these do the job adequately. BUT they are just a thin vinyl material similar to a cheap shower curtain and while they are completely opaque they also trap in all the heat if you have a south/southwest facing window (it does have a silver colored side that does nothing to reflect sunlight). While we’re happy with the light blocking aspect, the temperature in the room has gone up almost unbearably. Not sure I can fully recommend.

Cheaper than therapy
This product far exceeded my expectations!!! I have a window above my bathtub that has the rainglass you cannot see through, but of course it lets light in (cellular shades diffuse it some). I wanted to be able to relax in a bubble bath with candles in a completely dark room, and this product does not disappoint! It is very easy to use and I was able to put it up without a second set of hands. I used the adhesive circles that come with it since I plan to keep it up all the time. It also comes with 12 velcro strips that are each 4″ long, and I will keep those to use with something else. My window is 46″ x 46″, so I cut the curtain in a 47″ x 47″ piece. You want to clean the outside of the window frame where you will adhere to the metal window frame. I think it is wise to stick this beyond the edge of the actual window glass so that the light is physically unable to penetrate any cracks. This is why the instructions say to cut it a little larger than the window. I used 16 of the 18 provided adhesive circles, which are VERY sticky. Peel each one off, stick to the clean metal frame facing inside to the room. The next step I would do differently next time. Then you peel off the other side (facing you) of each circle that is now on the frame to expose the sticky part that you will apply the curtain to. They are so sticky that it was a bit tricky to get each one started to pull off the backing…next time I would actually expose the sticky on both sides before putting it on the wall because you could just barely touch it to the frame so that your skin does not touch much of each side. Once you have the entire window frame ready with sticky side exposed toward you, start at the top and hold the curtain up (black side facing you) to make sure it exceeds just beyond each side and the top. Press the curtain hard against each sticky circle. Since you just barely stuck it on the wall to prevent pressing the inside sticky side, now pushing the curtain from the black side will allow you to press the circle well into the frame. Work your way down each side simultaneously to make sure the curtain again just barely passes over the edge of the frame and sticks to each circle, finishing the bottom horizontal side last. I cannot send a picture with the lights off because it literally is a dark room and I cannot believe not a single sliver of light comes through! Since this is between my window and the cellular blind, you cannot even tell it is there. Draw up my bubble bath, light the candles, and relax the cares away any time of day!! This would also work great with the velcro strips when traveling with small children who fall to sleep easier in darkness, especially outside of their normal sleeping location.

Easy to install with the double sided tape with velcro. Easy to take down in the morning, and paste back up at night. Overall an affordable solution to a blackout room. Cuts out some decibels from outside aswell.
