This item was a big hit with adults & the almost 2 year old. Someone posted that the letters were made of cardboard, I don’t see any evidence of that. I also worried about the little plastic pieces to pick up the letters but they seem firmly attached. I can highly recommend this item. It has bright colors and is a well made item. I can also recommend the seller.

As expected
Exactly as expected – it would have been nice if the spelling of the word would have been under the puzzle piece so the child can see how the word is spelled – it was just the picture but overall good quality

Associating letter with sound
Good size, not too big and not too small. Love the pictures to encourage phonetics. The only picture that I wish was different was x-ray because it doesn’t make the c-s sound. Quail is kind of hard because the kids kept saying bird. Also for insect, they kept saying bug. Those are ok, though, because we can just expand our vocabulary 😉

Thin, short pieces with some funny fits
I’ve had a hard time finding a good quality letter puzzle. My toddler generally seems to like this, but it’s not my favorite Melissa & Doug toy. The stems are a bit short for toddler grip and the pieces are thin, like every other letter puzzle. The pieces fit – but some letters (like the S and O) don’t fit quite right. Quality cut issue?

Fun learning toy
2 year old loves this to help her learn her ABCs. The pictures underneath the letter help her to remember what goes where. Melissa and Doug is always quality and sturdy, with a good weight to it.
