Cooling, tingling relief
This is a pricey, yet effective spray for perineal relief. The packaging (both box and bottle) is beautiful and looks very high end. This is a much more attractive product than the samples given out in the hospital post-childbirth. The bottle is transparent, so you can see exactly how much of the spray you have left. The liquid inside is a soft, light green color, which I think gives it an organic, natural appearance. It was easy to remove the cap from the spray bottle. The size and shape of the bottle made it a little awkward to optimally position it — I was worried I might drop it on the bathroom floor (where it could break) or in the toilet. It then took a couple pumps before a light mist sprayed out, which is likely due to it being a new bottle. The scent is very light and subtle. It is a faint herbal smell — nothing medicinal or obnoxious. The relief is almost instantaneous. Within seconds of hitting my skin, I began to feel a cooling, and tingling sensation. This lasted for 15 minutes post-application. It was more intense than I was expecting, but it wasn’t unpleasant or uncomfortable. If you are seeking even more relief, the directions state you can keep the bottle in the refrigeration between uses. This would amplify the cooling effects. As stated above, this is on the expensive side. It is quite a bit more than some other all natural & vegan brands. I think the primary reasons for the increased cost are the packaging and the “celebrity” doctor endorsement. That being said, this would make a thoughtful gift for an expectant mom.

At least it smells nice
I’m recovering from an uncomplicated and natural delivery, of an almost 8lb baby, with no tearing, and this product actually makes my barely sore nether regions hurt more! It burned so much I had to shower. But at least it smells nice, and comes in a pretty bottle, which is reusable, hence the two stars.

Love the combo of witch hazel and essential oils
The main ingredient in this product is witch hazel, which has been used for years as an astringent and for its anti-inflammatory and healing properties. The ingredient list also includes lavender and peppermint, essential oils that have calming properties. The spray dispenser contains 2 fl. oz., and the scent is fresh. I sprayed it on and it gave me the relief that I was hoping it would give. The directions recommend storing in refrigerator for extra cooling relief, I can use that at this time, so I’ll definitely be doing that. The product is made in the USA. I highly recommend it.

Gentle witch hazel spray
This spray is very cooling and has witch Hazel which is quite refreshing when feeling hot and provides gentle and cleansing comfort. The fragrance is quite gentle and mild and doesn’t irritate at all. The bottle could have better ergonomics and is slightly heavier. The cooling effect is very effective and noticeable but not unpleasant. All in all if the bottle had better ergonomics and it would have been easier to spray it any direction and not just in upright position, it would have been a perfect cooling spray with the right amount of ingredients that are gentle on skin.

Strong cooling effect
This Soothe Perineal Spray comes in a beautiful, frosty glass spray bottle, so it feels high quality. The spray only works on an upright position, which means you likely have to use this while standing up and not in a seated position (like on the toilet.) You could also spray on a cloth and use that way, but I feel you might waste more product that way, and given the item is only 2oz, that’s not ideal. The scent smells mostly of witch hazel, and oddly enough, I did not detect much lavender or peppermint, or rose, which are all the ingredients listed on the packaging. Despite that, and the fact that those ingredients are listed higher on the list, I mostly only smelled the faint scent of citrus (which must be the orange and tangerine.)I did not feel the effects right away, but within a few minutes the cooling was undeniable and quite strong. Not unpleasant but definitely noticeable for quite a long period of time. Great if you’re looking for refreshing relief.Overall I think this is a decent product, but I do believe the current pricing of $17 is likely due to the packaging.Made in the USA.

Decent relief
While I didn’t give birth, I had surgery in roughly the same area, resulting in major discomfort in the very same area and figured I’d give this a try. They recommend you store it in the fridge for extra relief. Initially, there’s a bite, or a sting, or whatever you want to call it, but after that, there is a lot of relief. I did try the refrigerator recommendation and I can’t say there was much of a difference. I’d also say that the rose smell is probably the dominant smell of the bunch. The bottle is beautiful and it would make for a lovely addition to a postpartum gift basket.
