Dual-Purpose Fun for a Wide Age Range of Children
As someone who loves Melissa & Doug products, has a few of their wooden puzzles, and has a 3 month old and 2.5 year old, this is a great addition to their toys and will be gifted this Easter! The other puzzles I have from this same brand are all wooden with no touch & feel feature and my toddler loves those already. The extra touch & feel detail makes this loved even more as she’s able to use an additional sense to identifying and naming the animals while staying entertained longer.This comes packaged with a hard plastic piece over it which is shaped to the pieces and then sealed with plastic so it’s all very secure. The size is perfect where it’s not too large to store but it’s big enough where my child plays with the animal figurines outside of the puzzle as well so we love the dual purpose fun this provides.It’s easy to store away and to securely place the puzzle pieces where you’re not losing them during transfer from one room to another and for the price, quality, and dual purpose fun, this can’t be beat in my opinion.This can easily be enjoyed by children 6 months and up as they’ll enjoy feeling the designs while older children can identify the animals and use their imagination for the individual pieces.

I ordered this puzzle for my grandson who is ten months old. I know he won’t be able to play with it the right way until he’s older, but I was super surprised how much he loves each of the puzzle pieces – especially the owl. He holds them and waves them around and stares intently at them. The size is perfect for him.The puzzle itself is really nice with rounded edges. It is bright and colorful and the wood puzzle pieces are super fun and well made. This is the first time I’ve seen a puzzle that has different textures underneath each spot for one of the puzzle pieces. The textures match the markings on the puzzle piece – this is super clever as it adds a texture to an image. As my son becomes a toddler, I’m sure he’ll make more connections with the tactile aspects of the puzzle, as well as where to put each piece. Until then, though, he seems to be really enjoying it!Highly recommend!

For a 3 year old is a nice learning toy
The texture feels pretty nice and my 3 year old loved touching and feeling it. At first I thought it would be a little too young for my kiddo but it was nice at that stage. Made of some real wood. Good educational activity to prep the kiddo for preschool. It appears well made and durable. Sizes of the pieces were good and it doesn’t feel like the shapes are pointed. Nice and smooth finish to it.

Well made sensory puzzle
This is a very neat sensory puzzle. All five pieces have a rubber texture beneath them on the board of the puzzle. My 13 month old was instantly drawn to it. It’s nice that it has only five pieces because it’s less to keep up with around the house. It has very bright colors and great picture quality, and a great value. It’s an authentic Melissa and Doug product. It’s well made and perfect for 12 months to 3 years and up!
